Fire Alarm Design Experience

Community Development Commission and Housing Authority, Los Angeles California
Under a multiyear agreement, HYT Corporation provides fire protection engineering, design, and consulting services for the County. In addition to developing fire and life safety assessments of their numerous properties, HYT has also developed retrofit fire alarm and sprinkler system designs for their senior living complexes.
Senior Living Apartment, Orinda California
HYT Corporation performed a fire protection assessment of this existing, multi-story senior living facility for the purposes of evaluating the existing fire alarm system. The facility subsequently contracted HYT Corporation to develop a replacement retrofit fire alarm system design for the facility.
US Bureau of Reclamation, Department of the Interior
HYT Corporation designed the retrofit fire alarm system design for five dams/hydro-electric power plants (Shasta, Trinity, Spring Creek, Francis Carr & Spring Creek); Maintenance Center; and Shasta Visitorís Center in Northern California. Each facility design included a multiplex, addressable fire alarm control panel, fire detection devices, manual fire alarm pull stations, and occupant notification appliances. Each system also communicates to the Departmentís receiving station.
Fresno County, Brix & Mercer Buildings
HYT Corporation performed the retrofit replacement fire alarm system design for Fresno Countyís Brix & Mercer Buildings. The design included a multiplex, addressable fire alarm control panel and voice communication (evacuation) system for these 6- & 4-Story buildings. The design also included an emergency duress system, HVAC control, elevator recall, and the interface with the Countyís proprietary receiving equipment located off-site.
Apartment Complex, Milpitas California
In addition to providing code consulting for the design of this 382 unit apartment complex, HYT also developed the automatic sprinkler and fire alarm system designs for the Project.
Wastewater Treatment Plants, Northern California
Working as a subconsultant to Brown & Caldwell, HYT Corporation developed the fire detection and fire alarm system design for two wastewater treatment plants in Northern California.
Department of Energy, California
HYT Corporation is currently under a multi-year agreement to provide fire protection engineering, design, and consulting services for a major US Department of Energy facility. In addition to providing fire sprinkler designs for numerous other DOE facility projects, HYT has also developed the detailed fire sprinkler, fire alarm, and highly sensitive smoke detection systems designs for the DOE's super-computer facility located in Oakland.
AGT Pipelines Project
HYT Corporation is currently completing the fire detection, alarm, and fire suppression system design for the fabrication of over thirty local equipment rooms to be installed at the remotely actuated block valve stations at the AGT Pipelines Project within Azerbaijan and Georgia (former Soviet Union). These remote stations will be protected by total flooding gaseous fire suppression systems, actuated by smoke detection and manual releasing stations and controlled by local fire alarm control units.

University of California, Berkeley CaliforniaUnder separate contracts, HYT Corporation has developed the replacement fire alarm systems design for 5 campus buildings.  The designs included multiplex, addressable fire alarm control panels. The design services also address emergency lighting and evacuation systems, elevator recall, and the interface with the campus fire alarm transmission loop (master box system). Department of Energy, California
HYT Corporation is currently under a multi-year agreement to provide fire protection engineering, design, and consulting services for this US Department of Energy facility. We completed the design and construction period services for the retrofit installation of seven high sensitivity air sampling smoke detection systems for protection of the facilityís laser research building. The systems were integrated into existing building fire alarm equipment for signal transmission to a remote monitoring location. HYT Corporation is also in the 2nd year of a 5-year site-wide fire alarm system replacement project. HYT is developing the detailed (point-to-point and control unit wiring diagrams) for the entire project.

Additional extensive project experience history is available.  Please contact HYT Corporation and we will provide a summary of project experience relevant to your project.
