Hazardous Waste Handling Facility, California
HYT Corporation provided fire protection engineering and consulting services as a subconsultant to a large engineering firm for the construction of a new hazardous waste handling facility. We assisted in the code compliance aspects of the project, construction period consulting, and the development of operations manuals for the protection systems. Our staff also performed the design services for this new facility for the installation of automatic sprinklers, AFFF fire suppression systems, high expansion foam systems, fire detection, and alarm systems.
Propane Storage and Distribution Facility
For a city, our staff developed a fire protection engineering assessment of propane storage and distribution facilities. The study was conducted to assess the impacts of the facility on adjacent environs. The study included blast effects analysis and recommendations for enhanced protection, as appropriate. The services also included presentation of the study and its results at a public hearing convened for the purposes of addressing development of the area and operations.
Refinery, California
HYT Corporationís staff completed a fire protection engineering assessments of two large refinery, wharf, storage, and terminal facilities. The assessments evaluated the hazards created by the processes and storage facilities, the water supply and distribution systems, automatic fire protection systems, and manual fire suppression capabilities.  HYT also performed water supply testing and hydraulic modeling of the firewater facilities and developed phased upgrade projects for system enhancement.
Chemical Plant, Alaska
Our staff traveled to Alaska to develop and deliver an in-depth fire protection engineering study of a 7,000 ton/day ammonia and urea plant. The operations assessed included the methane distribution system and facilities, processing facilities, and wharf operations. The report identified and evaluated existing protection systems and effects of fire and explosion, including the development of postulated peak pressure zones from explosions. Recommendations were provided as appropriate.
Manufacturing Facility, Antioch California
HYT Corporation provided assistance in regard to life safety and hazardous materials/operations for the development of the facilityís
Hazardous Material Management Plans and Hazardous Materials Inventory Statements, plans and programs.  HYT also developed the AFFF foam-water sprinkler systems design for the protection of the facility's tank farm and truck loading area.
Refinery, Illinois
Our staff developed an in-depth fire protection engineering study of this 150,000 bbl/day refinery in the Midwest. The operations assessed included fractionating columns, coker operations, alkylation, crude processing (crude unit), sulfur unit, distribution and tank storage areas. The report identified and evaluated existing protection systems and effects of fire and explosion, including postulated peak pressure zones from explosions. Recommendations were provided as appropriate.
Paint Manufacturing Facility, Northern California
For this facility, our staff developed and designed AFFF deluge, water spray deluge and AFFF sprinkler protection for monomer storage facilities (tanks) and manufacturing areas. The design also included linear heat detection systems and sophisticated controls equipment for the various actuation scenarios.
Semiconductor Manufacturing Facility
Working as a sub consultant to another firm, HYT Corporation provided assistance in regard to life safety and hazardous materials/operations for the development of the facilityís plans and programs.
